Message of appreciation by the Greek General Secretariat for Gender Equality to the CoE: Women in decision-making in the field of education in Greece (May 2018)
The General Secretariat for Gender Equality (GSGE), i.e. the governmental organization in charge of equality between women and men, expresses its sincere appreciation to the Council of Europe for its initiative to upload on its website (section: Gender Equality Activities in Member States – Greece) the key findings of the sixteenth e-bulletin of our Observatory on Greek women’s participation in decision-making in the field of education:
https://www.coe.int/en/web/genderequality/gender-equality-activities-in-member-states .
Furthermore, it is underlined that a generous and comprehensive campaign on the added value and the promotion of our bulletin in Europe has taken place after a proposal by the competent GSGE Director for Planning, Standardization and Policy Monitoring on Gender Equality. A detailed and concise letter in Greek has been sent by the GSGE to a number of public organizations and independent bodies in Greece and on abroad. The recipients of our document have been, among others, the Hellenic Parliament, the Greek Ombudsman, the National Commission for Human Rights, all Ministries, the Permanent Representations of Greece to the International Organizations, as well as all the key social partners.
Last but not least, a very comprehensive article in Greek has already been uploaded on our website; although it is unavoidably in Greek, you will easily recognize the link to the CoE website: http://www.isotita.gr/ευρωπαϊκή-προβολή-του-έργου-του-παρατ/ .
In that way, the remarkable work of the Council of Europe on equality between women and men has been noticed once more by all competent stakeholders in Greece and beyond.
